From transcript of a habeas corpus hearing held in January, 1996 to determine whether Wallace Fugate was given "effective assistance of counsel" by Leo Browne during the 1992 murder trial. You would have that the injustice of Mr. Fugate's case would have called enough attention to the ignorance of the lawyers in his case and provided the courts with a basis for setting aside his conviction and sentence. Wallace was denied another trial!
