Briley, Joe
Former Chief Prosecutor for the Ocmulgee District Attorney (p. 800-809 - Closing Argument)
UPDATE: Resigned Aug, 1995 after being caught on a concealed tape recorder making sexual assaults to a female staff member, Kyla Bryan, who began working as a secretary for Briley in December 1986. A second woman alleged Briley made sexual advances to her also. No federal charges were possible because there is no such thing as a federal sexual harassment charge. Attorney General Michael Bower’s decided not to pursue criminal charges. Files show that U.S. Attorney Jim Wiggins, an old friend, gave Briley a letter of resignation and suggested he sign it. Briley is now in private practice in Gray, Georgia.
